Rothus Votes to Pass Historic Tax Reform Legislation
WASHINGTON - Today the House passed the Conference Report for Tax Cuts and Jobs Act, H.R. 1, by a vote of 227-203. Congressman Keith Rothfus (PA-12) issued the following statement after voting for this historic legislation to give hardworking Americans the financial relief they deserve:
“Today’s tax reform bill represents a historic shift of wealth and power away from Washington, D.C. and back to the American people,” said Congressman Rothfus. “The Tax Cuts and Jobs Act provides meaningful relief to Americans of all walks of life. For instance, a single mom with one child earning $41,000 a year will see a tax cut of more than $1,300 to help her make ends meet, while a family of four making $73,000 a year will get more than $2,000 back. Thanks to this bill, a competitive tax code will stop American businesses from packing up and sending jobs overseas. Today’s bill will unleash the power of the American people and allow the economy to grow at a much healthier and more dynamic pace, bringing prosperity back again.”
