Rothfus Responds To President’s Call For Increased Taxes, More Federal Spending
WASHINGTON, D.C. – Congressman Keith Rothfus [PA-12] issued the following statement after President Obama’s State of the Union address:
“President Obama cannot continue to pursue the same policies of more taxes and bigger government, and expect a different result. Under his failed policies, we have the lowest percentage of people in the workforce in nearly four decades and the average American’s household income is down $2,500,” said Congressman Rothfus.
“Hardworking taxpayers are tired of political gimmicks; they are tired of an Obama Administration that considers the American voter ‘too stupid’ to know what’s best and encourages people to rely more on big government and to let bureaucrats decide their health care, their mortgage and even their child’s lunch.”
“America deserves a healthy economy. I will continue to challenge all my colleagues, regardless of party, to pursue common sense solutions that empower the people and not the government. We will continue to present bipartisan solutions approved by the people’s elected representatives to the President and I challenge him to engage constructively with us in that effort.”
