Rothfus Joins Bicameral, Bipartisan Letter Opposing HHS Rule to Prop Up Planned Parenthood

Washington, D.C. – Congressman Keith Rothfus [PA-12] joined several of his colleagues in sending a letter to Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) Secretary Sylvia Burwell today expressing their opposition to a proposed rulemaking by HHS that could prevent states from blocking Title X funding – federal dollars for family planning services – to abortion providers like Planned Parenthood. Congressman Rothfus released the following statement:

“The federal government should not be mandating that tax dollars go to Planned Parenthood. Period. Given Planned Parenthood’s position as the country’s number one abortion provider, its advocacy for partial birth abortion, and its gruesome organ harvesting practices, a strong case exists for no taxpayer dollars to go to Planned Parenthood,” said Congressman Rothfus.
