"I was happy to learn that the USS Somerset will be commissioned in Philadelphia. Commissioning this important ship in Philadelphia, the port closest to Somerset County, is a fitting tribute to the courageous passengers and crew of Flight 93. I look forward to joining Secretary Mabus, Senators Toomey and Casey, Congressman Shuster, Flight 93 families, and fellow Pennsylvanians at the commissioning of the USS Somerset.”
Whether you will be in our nation’s capital for a short trip or a longer vacation, my office would be glad to help you arrange tours for the United States Capitol and other attractions. While you are in our nation’s capital, please feel free to stop by 503 Cannon House Office Building to rest your feet and to visit with me and my staff. We look forward to meeting you!
“The selfless sacrifice of the men and women on United Airlines Flight 93 must never be forgotten. It would be a fitting tribute to the courageous passengers and crew to commission the USS SOMERSET, which was named in their honor, in Philadelphia, the port closest to Somerset County.”
